Danielle Schuster is a lens-based artist living and working in Chicago. She uses photography to highlight the intricacies of the Midwest landscape, and how the emotional weight of a space can inform lived experiences. Her act of making is often accompanied by acts of walking and meditating, alone or with the people she loves. Through bookmaking, Schuster implements diaristic style text to reflect upon her process of making images.
In the job world Schuster has previously interned with Citybeat; documenting local events and spaces in the greater Cincinnati area. She’s spent the last few years working at Curiosity as a Visual Engineer; recording and editing short form content for various clients. While her original passion is photography, she’s come to embrace the world of video production. Her new passion might be running around and chatting with people on set.
Schuster grew up in Toledo, moved to Cincinnati for college and after, and is now living in Chicago.
